The last two weeks on Instagram - Christmas special

The last two weeks on Instagram – Christmas special

The last two weeks have gone incredibly fast, and now I find myself travelling back to my Au Pari life in Paris. I’ve had an amazing time being back home. It was great to see all my relatives, spend time with my family and boyfriend (oh and Jaffa!), and actually enjoy my first christmas in six years where I haven’t had exams straight after – this is something that I have been looking forward to for ages! So here are a few of my favourite Instagram photos posted during the holidays.

A wide variety of formage at Les marchés de Versailles; a beautiful view that can be experienced at the top of Printemps on the terrace bar; some gingerbread cookies that I made for my last day of school. The main Christmas Tree that you encounter in the Town Square of the Main Street, USA, in Disneyland Paris; Sleeping Beauty’s Castle at Disneyland Paris; a festive shop display at Au Roi Soleil, a boutique Chocolatiers. On the way to class I saw the horse guards parading outside the Cathedral Notre-Dame; Attending the Saint Louis and the Arts conference at the Louvre this Saturday; it’s officially Christmas outside the Notre-Dame Cathedral. Spending a lovely Sunday evening in front of the fire at home; Before entering the ‘Medieval Morocco: An Empire from Africa to Spain’ exhibition at the Louvre one encounters a beautiful Grand Chandelier originally from Fez, Morocco; A current work of art by Claude Lévêque within the Louvre, a neon installation piece striking the top of the pyramid. This week the Micro-Architecture conference took place at the Auditorium de la Galerie Colbert; The Louvre’s Pyramid looking stunning on the night of the Saint Louis and the Arts Conference; Pont de l’Archevêché showcasing it’s collection of locks gained throughout the years with the Cathedral Notre-Dame gazing in the back.

Watching the Christmas Tree go up in front of Notre Dame Cathedral; A visit to the see the upside down Christmas Tree at Galeries Lafayette; Sublime views of Paris from the top of the Arc de Triomphe. Pretending to be children again by visiting one Paris’ Aquariums, we made a new friend in a clown fish; Taking in the breathtaking views at the top of the Arc de Triomphe; The Opera National de Paris during the verge of twilight with a massive crowd listening to local musicians. Watching the sunset whilst exploring the Jardin des Tuileries with some lovely friends; Just one of the many amazing views of the River Seine that I see on my walks to school when on the Pont au Double; I enjoyed a lovely visit to the used book Cafe, Merci. Merci offers not only wonderful drinks, but the chance to pursue the various books adorning the shelves.

Social Media Art

I am, however, slogging away attempting to write my dissertation. It’s taking a while, and I am finding it hard (I have so much I want to say, but have no idea how to articulate it), but the show must go on! Anyway, this is a bit of a random post. I was looking on BuzzFeed the other day (my guilty pleasure), and I saw this awesome article about paintings throughout art history which have been ‘updated’ by a Ukrainian artist called Nastya Ptichek. I thought it was pretty entertaining, so have uploaded a few of her images to this post! They’re petty cool, and I think they will speak out to a lot of us who use social media. It’s very clear. So even though I am procrastinating, I have still managed to find a way of …
