The Eiffel Tower and Blossom, Spring in Paris

Mon retour à Paris – Back to Paris

These past recent weeks seem to be flying by, and much too quickly for my liking. The last two weeks have been the holidays for me, which included travelling down to the South of France and then heading back over to England to spend time with my family. Not only have the weeks gone incredibly quickly, but I cannot believe that it’s May already! Where did April go? For me, this means that the clock has begun ticking towards my departure from Paris, and it makes me really sad just thinking of leaving my French family and life here. However, I shall not be down the last two months I have here, but will make the most of the time I have left here in this beautiful city. That includes visiting places I have never been before, as well as trying my hardest to blog all about them.

The last two weeks on Instagram

It’s been a while since I’ve written one of my usual ‘This week on Instagram’ posts, and without further ado, here it is. The last two weeks have been incredibly busy – I’ve ended up doing so much. But the main idea that I think one could possibly take from the last couple of days is that I have been somewhat preoccupied with Spring – Paris in Spring. As previously mentioned in my blog (and of course in future posts), Spring here in Paris is beautiful. There is something magical and dream-like to be able to wander around the various streets, especially with no aim or goal in mind. The arrival of the flowers and green luscious leaves makes for much nicer photos, and I’ve recently been trying to experiment with different angles and ways to capture the environment around me. As you will be able to tell, I’m becoming a huge fan or the sun flare and trying to get that ethereal quality to my photographs. I just hope that my filter on my lens protects my camera …

Farewell January, hello February!

January is often a somewhat monotonous month. Christmas has come and gone, and people go back to work or university. However, for me, this January has been incredibly different to what I have become accustomed to. For the last 6 years, January has meant exams, but this year was the first time in many that I didn’t have to revise over the Christmas holidays nor panic myself during this period. So now, I have a very different view-point of this time of year.  As previously mentioned, nothing exciting normally happens around this time, but here in Paris, January has definitely been an eventful one. One only needs to think back to the three days of terror that took the city by surprise, with the attack on the satirical paper Charlie Hebdo, and the hostage scenes taking place both outside Paris and in the very heart of the city. Everyone was shaken by these events, which ultimately led to the most attended march in French History. Within the following weeks, the hysteria subdued, and people carried on with their January. Personally, this …

The last two weeks on Instagram - Christmas special

The last two weeks on Instagram – Christmas special

The last two weeks have gone incredibly fast, and now I find myself travelling back to my Au Pari life in Paris. I’ve had an amazing time being back home. It was great to see all my relatives, spend time with my family and boyfriend (oh and Jaffa!), and actually enjoy my first christmas in six years where I haven’t had exams straight after – this is something that I have been looking forward to for ages! So here are a few of my favourite Instagram photos posted during the holidays.

A White Christmas

A White Christmas

Finally, yes finally, we have had a white Christmas! (Well, a snowy boxing day, but that still counts). I managed to take a few photographs using my camera, but the sheer anxiety of getting wet meant that I wasn’t able to take very good shots. Nevertheless, here are a few that I took on my phone! Hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday 🙂
